sub suggestions, 2 or 4 12's???

Ok im trying to decide on some subs, i will be running 2 pioneer gm-x962 amps, so about 760 watts rms and 1520 watts max. i have been looking at some 12" kicker comp subs. my question is i can get either 2 kicker comp vr's or four kicker comp's for around the same price which would you guys prefer. Space shouldnt be a problem and im building my own prolly sealed box so if any one has some cool ideas or suggestions for an enclosure for 4 12" subs i need some. o and unless u can find some good subs for about 80 bucks apiece then i think i have my mind set on kickers. Thanks for the help guys. Also what do you guys think about this setup. would 4 be too much bump. also any idea how loud it could possibly get???????

4 x $80 = 320+ tax, so you are going to spend almost 400, for 400 bucks and 760 watts, get 1 RE HC, they are under 300 a peice, you will be suprised at the output of this sub, build you a box for under 50 bucks, the box should be 3.6 cu ft. after displacment. so the specs are something like 20" deep X 30" wide X 14" high, put a port all along the botton of the box the port should be, ( and don't quote me on it) 2" x 16" X 14" deep. all for under 400 bucks, and your single sub will sound better and louder and cleaner than all your buddies 2 and 3 sub setups. enjoy

oh yha, run each amp to each voice coil of the sub, you might see 145 db. but then again you really need to do the install right. good luck!

well really im gettin 2 subs for $80 bucks so like $190 - $200 with shipping for all 4 of them. Now what do you think, still think i should go with the one? The reason im thinkin about doin these four is cause its pretty cheap and right now one of the hardest hitting systems in town is with just 2 of these cheap kickers with like maybe 400 rms goin to them. U got any ideas for a box? Thanks

my bad, i thought you said 4 subs for 80 a peice, for $200, go to sounddomain.com and find some idq12's make sure they are D4's and build a box = 14x30x20 with a port like a said from my prev. post. enjoy. tell me what you think. oh yha, hook up those amps to each of the subs, and you wil be running perfect.

IDQ's are great subs but for around 200 i would do 1 Adire Tempest. they are 150 a piece and they pound like crazy. yes i know it's not 12"s like your looking for but i'd still say go with a single tempest 15".
