Sub in box

If i use a 12" sub in a vented box that currently uses a 10" subwoofer, what, in terms output (acoustical or mechanical) will change?

I wont be using the exact same box, i'll be building an exact replica, the only difference is i hope to use a 12" sub.

What? Is the replica going to be sized up? A 12" sub and a 10" sub perform well in different volumes, but what are the specs of the 10" box?
