OKay im a noob i know but i was just wondering what major diffrences i would see if i where to hook a 15" kicker l7 to 1 ohm or 4 ohm? Would there be much of a diffrence in anything?

Depending on ur amp. if u amp is 1ohm stable and how much power it is given at 1ohm or 4ohm. what kinda amp do u have?

Both have given great info. The difference in impedance given same power will not show mch of any change, except for on paper. BUT, laws of physics say that with less resistance and equal voltage, there will be more current. And with more current comes more power, so if you are running an Orion 1200D on it and you wire it to 4ohms, you will only send around 750wrms so the sub, while if you wire it to 1ohm, the amp will produce more, around 1200 to be exact.

no difference in output, it's the same power. however, a 4 ohm load requires less current then a 1 ohm load to make the same power. so the 4 ohm load will be easier on the electrical system...

however, in a power regulated amp, where power is made equally regardless of impedence, i'm not for sure that rule applies.

so, mike75356, if u decide to go with that pg amp, then impedence matters a lil more then first thought. ur amp will/could possibly develop more power at 4 ohm while being easier on ur car's electrical system....
