stupid question. 2 amps how to wire.

im eventually hooking up 2 w6s to 2 500/1 JL amps. i went in to buy a distro for it a few monthes ago and the dude was like "hey i can sell you one and make money but what we do here on custom installs is splice the main line and solder another line off of it then shrink wrap it". is that possible? i mean he was cool enough to save me some cash on a distro but was he sompletly full of shit?

Distro blocks are easier and cleaner...I cannot imagine trying to splice 4g or 0g wire. Makes no sense to me...

full of shit. splicing 0 or 4 gauge wire would be dumb, spend the 10-15 bucks on a distribution block. much easyer to work with, if your wiring is going to be shown it looks much cleaner.
