Stupid Mistake I Fixed Today

Today i noticed that my front comps wouldnt fade left to right, so i looked at my rcas on my amp . I have a 4 channel jbl amp with the front and rear channels bridged to my comps. I had the right rca y splitted into both the front and the rear, same with the left one, so both comps were playing the left and right channels. no wonder i didnt think these cdts sounded very good. i switched it so both right rca cables played the right comp, and the left rca channels playing the left comp, and it sounds like 10x better. i shoulda noticed this a long time ago i think.

If it makes you feel better here's my recent stupid mistake.

Front door panels have stock tweeter cutouts at the top, mids on the bottom. I pulled the stock tweeters & replaced the mids with components, putting the tweeter down by the mid, NOT the stock location.

Did all the right stuff for install & by the book it should have been bulletproof. But never could get great midbass out of them.

Just the other day I realized why - big hole in the door panel almost at ear level - the old tweeter location. Backwave was leaking thru & killing midbass! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/redface.gif.62fdbfe1a101588a808c4cff71bcb942.gif

so i guess i was running it in mono. Either way, i had switched it from a 2 channel amp, and i was in a hurry. Just glad these cdts sound a lot better now.
