stupid cooling fan...

The plastic part that holds the cooling fan in my Opti2000D is torn in 2 sections, causing a lotta db's of vibration that you can hear throughout the car when no music is playing or even when music is playing at low volumes. I can't get to the bottom of the circuit board to get a replacement fan in there so do you think it'd be safe to just remove the fan altogether?

It was probably put there for a good reason, removing it will likely destroy your amp eventually, maybe sooner than later.

If you do not want to attempt to take the amp apart so that you can replace the fan, and super glue doesn't work to hold the plastic back together, then you will want to send it to a shop to have the fan replaced, it is an important part of your amp.

Post some pics and hopefully someone could tell you how to open it up and get to the fan.

ya DO NOT take it out and run it...itll be bad...

its not hard to replace the fan. get that amp open to where u can remove the fan. chances are its held in my screws. find a 12v fan that is exacctly the same size as that fan. call the manufacture and ask them for the exact fan size if u cant find that out easily. first try some adhesives on it. go to the paint section of home depot and youll find a wide variety of differant glues. silicone works well, gorrilla glue should work fine....but try and glue it it as as long as the glue doesnt interfere with the fans operation. its not that hard to fix and will be good experience for you to fix this. WORST case senario find an amp/electronical repair place locally and have them do it for you for a small fee. good luck homie
