strapping tends to make them more unstable...id run em seperate and gain match...From what I understand you have to run an external x-over to reverse the phase to one of them, idk..Should i strap them or run one amp to each voice coil?
Shit, why'd you get that VC config? It it round-wire VC I do believe, the dual .7 is the flat-wound...better heat dissipation.
Anyways, I was going to say like InhumanAcura said...assuming you had dual .7 VC's. One on each coil and level match. BUT if you have a dual 1.8 (sure it's not dual 1.4?????) and you're using this as a competition only setup correct?
I'd parallel the sub, and strap the amps. It's a little confusing/complicated to strap them. I'd PM ScottieJ...I've seen it done...I just don't want to tell you one little wrong step and F-things up.
So, for competition sake, it'd be best to strap @ .9 (so each amp would be seeing a .45ohm load) for burps. (This is obviously all before our lovely friend impedance rise //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif )

I'm telling him if he straps it @.7ohms (1.4 dvc in parallel) it's the EQUIVALENT of each amp seeing a .35ohm load. I'm running my Modded 1501d @.35ohms daily right now...and have been for 2-3weeks ever since I got my DVC .7ohm MT (paralleled //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ). It'll CERTAINLY take it for a burp...just NEVER ever play below tuning, that is where impedance rise becomes inverse (instead of rising...it shoots real low...) and since you're alread at .35ohms...it goes to near dead short...and you can kiss your amp goodbye. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifEach amp wont see its own load, the two amps will become "one circuit" basically. ANyways, I really think that strapping them and running it @ .9ohms is TOO low.
Ok, cool, and Im telling you that when amplifiers are strapped, their minimum impeadance for stable operation increases. Running strapped amps at that low of an impeadance without technical assurance from someone who actually knows thier shit is the only time I would do it.I'm telling him if he straps it @.7ohms (1.4 dvc in parallel) it's the EQUIVALENT of each amp seeing a .35ohm load. BUT, for SPL competition...strapped @.7ohms would be the way to go.
