Strap AQ2200's or get AQ3500d?

Can't decided which would be better strapping two AQ2200's or running a single AQ3500d. I want to power a D1 BTL.

The pros of the 2200's is that I could start with one running at .5ohm then double up later, strapped at 2ohm.

Or I could get the 3500d and run it at 2ohm or at .5ohm to save space and wiring problems.

Also what kind of electrical is going to be required for the above setups?

2200s are supposed to do 4400 strapped, thats what im planning on doing.

I am considering the old 3500d. I have heard they will do close to 4400 at 0.5ohm, although for daily I won't be using all that power. Still cheaper than two 2200's....

Will 180ah of batts and a 180amp alt enough to run the 3500d at .5 ohm (keeping an eye on voltage of course)?

I would just get the 3500D. But your going to need some good electrical to power that at .5 ohms.

Kinda seems like your going to spend either more money on the amps (2 aq2200's @2 ohms) or more on electrical (aq 3500d @.5). I get nervous about running an amp under its rated impedence, although audioque are great amps. If it was me I would strap the 2200's.

It won't take 3000w of clean power daily? I rather have headroom in case I want 2 bass race or sumthin. Could run @ 2ohms daily, but I was thinking of just going easy on the gain @.5 ohm.

I think you would neep similar electrical for both. You have to able to support 4k either setup...

I know. I would rather run the two amps at their rated impedence than run the one under its rated impedence, but thats just me.

i mailed aq and asked them on running mine at .5 they said alot of people do it with no problem just watch the gain so then i ordered my 4 15" sdcs and now im waiting till next week when i get a delivery of goodies everyday so far! lol subs, alt, batt,s amp!!!! and wire!

The 3500d will take .5ohms daily like a champ and never get warm. Will even burp .25 ohms if your electrical is excellent. I ran 2 AQ 1200's at 1 ohm strapped (.5 ohms each) daily and they never flinched. even burped them a couple times at .5 ohms strapped but they didnt like it too much for daily! Audioque is way more soild then 90% of the crap out there at that price.
