Strange bittorrent problems

Tell me if you ever seen this happen before-

I can download normally from private registered sites but I cannot upload back.

I cannot download from public sites that do not require a membership (like pirate bay)

I use Bit tornado and it shows that I am firewalled when trying to download from public trackers, the advanced tab shows that I am being choked/snubbed by all peers and seeders.

When downloading from a private tracker the indicator shows that I am fully connectible and downloads go fine until I try to seed the file, my upload speed never goes above 2kb/s

This all started after I switched from my local phone company's broadband to my local cable company supposed faster cable internet with a six months free package(Sasktel to access communications)

Modifications I made-

Uninstalled Nortons 2005

Added bittornado to the XP firewall exeptions list

Ran XPsmoker pro's internet connection optimizer

Installed lvllord's hacker patch to windows that (helped for web surfing)-

Quote-

"What's been done:

To say it easy: the before 10 half-open connections are being increased to 50 (can be changed during runtime and with the parameter /L) and the CRC is been corrected. And that's it!"

My speeds with the phone company were consistantly in the 4.5mbit/s range

The cable company rarely ever reaches 4mbit/s in fact the results of my last test run just a few minutes ago were-

Your download speed : 764 kbps or 95.6 KB/sec.

Your upload speed : 816 kbps or 102.1 KB/sec.

I have done many internal and online virus and adware scans and found absolutely no evience of infection.

So Im sitting here going WTF??, the internet support line claims that my service is set to high speed and no capping, throttling or blocking is being done.

I used to use bittornado. Scrap bit tornado and use azureus or bitcomet. And azureus > bitcomet imo. I switched about 2 months ago and haven't had any of the problems I used to get when I used bt.

port fowarding is not required with bit tornado, you simply add bittornado to your firewall exceptions list and any of the ports it uses are automatically allowed through, my bt client is configered to randomly choose a port between 49162 and 65535 to avoid blacklisted ports.

I would say to change the ports that bittorent uses and then switch clients. IMO, ABC > *. Some ISPs will block ports or throttle the standard bittorrents ports. I also don't believe that bittornado will automatically forward ports either. If you have a router, it is a seperate firewall and requires configuration.

After extensive research I have finally discovered the reason for the strange events.

I went to the Access communications web page and made a customer account, this enabled me to access their "internet options" page. On this page there is an option to shut off port filtering on my modem, apparently they have their modems set to filter ports by default to "protect the consumer from viruses" *cough*bullshit*cough*..

I now have fully operational internet with working bit torrents.

Not once did the 24/7 internet support desk mention this feature during my many calls.

As soon as my 6months free are up I am switching back to the other ISP.

I was behind on my bill with Sasktel and Access was offering a digital cable package with high speed internet to Sasktel customers.

My previous bill was $110 a month for cable and internet,

My bill now is $55 a month for the next six months for "equivalent" services.

I told my boss that he was a phucktard and quit about 6weeks ago (whoopee:) ) so money got tight, On Monday I'm going for an interview to work at a local hotel as a night auditor, My chances of getting the job are good so this should solve any future financial limitations.
