alright here we go......I have about $700 to spend on subs and highs, I am fighting with my buddy, I was gonna run 2x type R comp.s(meaning components) and 4 type R 12's in a sealed box on my m2d2 us amp, is this a mistake? I've been reading about the Rs blowing up, should I run this set up or something else? I'm open for options. should I run 2 diff subs in a ported, diff comp.s you got my price let me know what you think, I have a iva-d300 for my H/U and a m2d2 for the subs, and a 4085 usamps highs amp, is there a better setup for this range instead of what i'm doing, I don't what to have to mess with this system, so don't hit me up with the subs I might have to rebuild and stuff, I want reliablity! its a must.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I believe I contributed to that idea, lol. Mine were 2 years old, in a big ported box off double their RMS power...But hey, they lasted 2 YEARS like that.
so I should be ok then? with 4 on a m2d2 right? what about 2 in a ported which is louder?

A friend of mine and member on here, had a 12" New type r in 2.25ft^3 at 32hz off a single MD2 in his 300zx...it was fawking loud...at 1ohm mind you. If you put 2 12" on a sinlge md2 at .5ohm, I'd think you'd be happy.

I will be running either 2 Rs in a ported or 4 Rs in a sealed which is louder? it will be 1 ohm either way which is louder though?

If its the new R's, I wouldnt go sealed. The older 04 and earlier type-rs sound simply great sealed. Do you not have the room for 4 ported? If I were you, I'd just do 2 ported off that MD2 and retain some cargo space.

its going under my back seat of my dodge ram, I'm lifting the seat 4-5 inches, its 61in wide and like 16 deep and 14in high and slopes to 10in high in the back
