Stetsom Vulcan 1k5 amazing amp

be cool to find out if it makes that much power and is that small. if the price is really low this is cool but if the price is higher would like to see in a different nicer looking sink. isnt that a ol school la sink?

why don't you buy it and find out?
bashing somethin u dont even know about besides the size of it....
I was just asking a simple question...when an amp that does that kind of power normally weight 15-20 pounds(not to mention having 0 gauge hookups instead of 4...maybe 8 gauge, too hard to tell for sure in the pics).

I bet this amp alone costs more than any single piece of equipment in your build. It does rated power.
o...k...what does that have to do with anything? If I based all of my purchases on cost, I'd be pretty broke and probably unsatisfied.

How do you know it does rated power, have you tested it yourself? Apparently for me to even question that a 5 pound amp does 1800 watts, I need to buy it and find out...so why shouldn't you if you're claiming it does do rated power? I'm just trying to figure out how these Brazilian amps are defying physics with their power output and power/ground hookups being too small.

The heat sink does look pretty bad and cheap...maybe they had to cut back to make the amp more affordable? Maybe that's why they use too small power/ground connections and expect the buyer to pay for reducers and such? I don't know, but I'd assume it'd be more expensive than what we're accustomed to for that kind of power.

it has 95% efficiency which means that 95% of the energy that went into the device, the battery wires, were transformed into audio. Lost only 5% of energy with heat.
I know what efficiency means. Considering that the 95% is more than likely at 4ohms, and the average class d amp that isn't a pile of crap is around 80-85% efficient at 4ohms, it's not going to make a huge difference. For instance, the Sundown 1500D is rated at 86% efficiency...yet it's three times the physical size and four times the weight.

hmm, all of there amps are small, and I have never seen one that didnt do rated..I could be wrong I havent seen them all
I haven't seen any unbiased 3rd party testing...but I have seen a lot of them go up in smoke. Maybe it's the single 1/0 hookups for the 7k and 12k amps? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

You speak the truth, I have seen lots of them go poof!!

You need a good sized heatsink to properly cool an 1800 watt amp, otherwise it'll just build up heat with such a small heatsink. Smaller amps have this kind of problem all the time. Mmats amps also tend to get rather warm from my experiences.

The light weight should raise some questions...what kind of components are being used in order to cut weight down so much? How much weight can you really cut while still being able to produce that kind of power? I'd be interested to see some gut shots of the amp...
