If you're running 5-6 feet away I highly suggest doubling up your power wire. Less then 3 feet not to much difference but at 3feet + probably pretty big difference. Or see if you can find double 1/0 power wire on line and buy stinger 3/0 to 1/0 reducers.
As for comparing the amps like don said both have pros and cons. Really comes down to choice.

I've never even heard of double 1/0? So if I were to buy the 3/0 to 1/0 reducers, run a single 3/0 run from rear batt to the amp I should be fine?

how far is the amp from the battery?

Stetsom amps are like any other amps, if u abuse them to a certain point they will fail on you. Once u use them properly, they will perform very well. Most of the guys damaged them or "blew them up" because of improper use, by bypassing the protection circuitry or by just plain misuse. Thats where the bad reputation of stetsom amps came from.

There's a new rep for Stetsom USA who's working hard to ensure customer satisfaction and there's a new repair center for stetsom amps- DB-r. The previous repair center didnt do a good job and held customers amps for too long without fixing them. Stetsom Usa is back on the rise again, and their newer model digital line has alot of choices for the customers ,ranging from 1k,2k,4k,5k,6k,7k,9k,11k and 14k amps. What else can u ask for??

so if i read right the thd on the digital line is >1% correct, and the fans quiet down after a minute so the sq between the SD and the Stetsom should be about the same......right?

I have owned a pair of IA 40.1's and I replaced with a stetsom 7kd. The stetsom killed the IA's in power output and IMO SQ. Then I replaced that with a 7k2d and it was a world of differance from the older 7kd plus at 12v it was putting out 1500 more watts then the IA's. Im sure SD is great but Im a stetsom guy. Plus you can get a amp that puts out more power then SD's biggest amp and is over 600 bucks cheaper then the SD amp

I prefer stetsom. I've only used the stetsom though. And once the music starts playing, you can't hear the fans at all whatsoever. And mine is directly behind me, so the "noisy" fan shouldn't be a problem for anyone really.

You can't even classify the sound of the fans as SQ. That's not an SQ category. Its an amps internal noise category.

I believe he still has to order from Brazil.. but their new repair center is dB-r so there's about all the assurance I need
