I've only heard of either amps blowing up because people don't repsect the recommended ohm load
what did you run before the stetsom? glad to see you are happy
I feel the same way man. I don't really think you can compare them. Personaly opinions would be best.I've run a few different amps in the last year or so:
RD 5750.1, Sundown 1500d, IA 20.1s, Orion 2500ds, AB VFL 150.1s
I ran all these amps at 1 ohm, except for the RD, ran it at 2 ohms.
Even though these amps are all still VERY good products, the Stetsom seems to not be so current hungry as most every Zenon I've run.
I'm not bashing any company or any Zenon amps, like I said, they are very good products. But for the size, power, and current consumption...SD and Stetsom can't be compared. At least that's my opinion.

I'm not going to lie, but the fans are loud...at first start up. After about 45-60 seconds, they quiet down to almost silent. My amp is in the very back of my trunk so even with my back seats down and volume all the way down on my HU, windows up...I can't even hear it.528hz do you find that the fans are very loud and affect sq?
MakeShiftAudio broke it down for me and it will still be fine up to 4' away from the battery I believe. Also I can deal with the amp noise since the amps will be in the bed of the truck.I'm considering one of those as well (you already know that Trav). The fan noise concerned me a bit but then I heard (like 528hz said) it quiets down after a min or so...so that doesn't bother me much. My only concern now is having the amp 5-6 feet away from my batteries and only having a single 1/0 input for power and ground.
If you're running 5-6 feet away I highly suggest doubling up your power wire. Less then 3 feet not to much difference but at 3feet + probably pretty big difference. Or see if you can find double 1/0 power wire on line and buy stinger 3/0 to 1/0 reducers.I'm considering one of those as well (you already know that Trav). I've never even heard of double 1/0? So if I were to buy the 3/0 to 1/0 reducers, run a single 3/0 run from rear batt to the amp I should be fine?If you're running 5-6 feet away I highly suggest doubling up your power wire. As for comparing the amps like don said both have pros and cons. Really comes down to choice.
