well since i reviewed my cdt speakers i decided ill do a review for the mag. im glad to say this review is going in the other direction.
I bought this sub off Karleon in the classified (good guy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ). the amp im runnin to it is the hifonics bx1500 as seen in the sig. the sub is gettin something around 1300 watts when im really pushin it (again this is my guess since i know hifonics are supposedly overrated). the box is 2.1 cubic feet and its tuned to 29hz. lpf is at 120hz, gain a little over 1/2 way up.
sq: wow, this is a nice sub. everything sounds so good. i compared it to my friends pioneers (i know its not really fair but i had to compare it to something and everyone else wasnt around). the mag obliterates them. every note is dead on and its just got a nice sound. SQ=9/10. one of the nicest subs ive heard. i wish i could do a side by side comparsion to some of the more expensive subs such as the jl's. you also gotta keep in mind this is in a 2.1^3 ported box. not a optimal SQ box, yet the sub still sounds good.
spl: well, this sub is meant as a SQ sub and its true purpose is to recreate notes as accuratly as possible. but, while in the process of makin it so **** accurate, SI also gave it the ability to get loud which is never a bad thing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. trust me this thing is loud. one thing i dont like though has nothing to do with the sub but the old SI rating of 600 watts for this sub. this sub doesnt move much with that much power IMO. it still reproduces the low notes with accuracy but it just doesnt get loud IMO. im glad SI upped the rating to 900. it really starts to move with 900 watts or so and it just gets better with more and more watts, although i usually try to just keep it under where i believe it would be gettin 900 watts. SPL: 9/10
if you have a chance to pick up this woofer, dont pass up the opportunity. Good work SI!
