Stephen Hawking may be gone soon

LONDON (AP) - Famed mathematician Stephen Hawking was rushed to a hospital Monday and was seriously ill, Cambridge University said.
The university said Hawking has been fighting a chest infection for several weeks, and was being treated at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, the university city north of London.

"Professor Hawking is very ill," said Gregory Hayman, the university's head of communications. "He is undergoing tests. He has been unwell for a couple of weeks."

Hawking pokes fun at Albert Einstein for not believing in quantum mechanics. When asked why he didn't believe in quantum mechanics, Einstein would say things like, "Well, God doesn't play dice with human beings"(p. 56). Hawking's response is that God not only plays with dice, He sometimes throws them where they can't be seen.

He's lived with ALS for about 45 years. Life expectancy of someone with ALS is what, 5-10 years? Let's hope he pulls through.

Yea thats what I meant the guy as long as I could ever rem was in a wheelchair and crippled... I clicked on the link and its who i thought it was.. So as I said I never knew the good to be very well off health wise...

I just actually finished "A Stubbornly Persistent Illusion" the other day.

For those of you who don't know its a massive novel by Hawking on Einstein and his work in physics.

I hope the guy pulls through.
