Stayin a step ahead of my buddy who wants his system better than mine

here a link to under seat box idea. yours will have to be made to fit your truck of course, but same idea apply.

Interesting. I appreciate the suggestion except I have a Dakota Quad Cab, not extended cab.(4 full doors and sedan-like backseat.) Under my rear seats there is about an inch of air, then an inch of carpet, then one layer of foam/insulation, then the sheetmetal cab floor. I don't see how I could even fit a shallowmount enclosure with the skinniest sub under there although I know the guys with the full size trucks do all kinds of stuff with that space. IF I do any new enclosure it'll have to be behind those rear seats or possibly something flowing from the rear of the center armrest to the middle of the back seat.

Brag about your dick size to your male friends alot do you?
If shallow mount subs didnt have problems over conventional subs, dont you think ALL subs would be shallow mount by now? Or you think we just like having deep mounting depths for no good reason?
Actually they know all about it cause they've seen me send women out of the room in discomfort holding their coochies in pain so they do the bragging for me.

As for the subs, maybe you misread my question. Im not questioning whether they're inferior. I'm saying I believe they are based on some reading and on my own experience with the Pioneer's inability to keep up solidly with some of my music's more complex bass beats. Seems like there is a certain 'boominess' engineered into most so they can go surprisingly loud and surprisingly deep for their size but they don't seem to control themselves that well in SQ applications. I was just curious as to whether anyone could give me a good understanding of what aspects of the design differences cause these deficiencies. This is me admitting there are things I don't know and asking to be educated by anyone who has more knowledge.
