Stayin a step ahead of my buddy who wants his system better than mine

So me and my buddy who got me into car audio have always added or changed things here and there to improve our systems and when his is better he'll rub my nose in it a bit, when mine is better I'll make sure to keep letting him know.
At this point I have HErtz HSKs in front getting 140 watts off a Bridged EA4200, infinity reference rear coaxials in the rear off the head unit, an Alpine CDA 9886.

Sub is a Pioneer Premier shallowmount 10 (It's a crew cab truck, no trunk, limited mounting options so I stick to shallowmounts right now.) Sub runs off an Alpine MRP M500 providing 300 watts at 4 ohms.

He has diamond audio comps front and rear, stock head unit, Hertz sub in a bandpass enclosure. The thing is he seems to be running all 6 of his his interior speakers off one MTX 75x4 4 channel and he's still running a stock HU that will probably end up tied to a JL Cleansweap. Either that or he's putting in a Pioneer in dash EQ with time alignment.

I think his plan is to upgrade for more power and go with Boston Acoustics all around except for the sub. I'm trying to figure out the next thing to do to my system so that when he makes his changes I'll still blow him out of the water. Better sub? Time to get imprinted?
What kind of truck? Maybe there are better custom enclosures that offer

a little more mounting depth. Or drive him to ******* with a nice blow-through install.

there is a thread somewhre on here of a dude who made a box that his rear seat bolts on top of. the entire under part of his rear seat is speaker box.

there are 2 sundown e8's in there. - and for a truck - id imagine it sounds amazing

with out giving up an inch of space inside, good pix in his thread too.

give a look around for it.

That's a pretty common enclosure type for x-cabs these days. Although in my opinion, a real man would remove the back seat.
