SSds for HT

I am going to use my pair of 12in Fi Car Audio SSds for a Home Audio use (more music than theater)

I am going to port hem. I have a Dayton 1000 watt amp, and I know that the RMS for each sub is 800 watts, so I'm looking for the most efficient design I can for these subs. Box size does not matter too greatly as it is for home.

I was thinking 5cf total (for both) NET cubic feet, tuned to 32hz.

Any advice for the enclosure design?

Id tune lower for HT, something around 20 htz, and do a bit bigger of a box.

Oh I forgot It is mainly for music. I might also turn it on for gaming but I doubt it. I already have HT subwoofers tuned to 18hz.

I'm keeping the ported idea. So considering it is for music, what do you guys think.

They have the copper voice coil option if that means anything.

I was informed by many others ported will do fine, now I'm getting the hint that sealed is the 'obvious' choice.

Care to explain?

I'm kind of new to HT design... Should I downfire both the subs and the port, or have the port 90 degrees side firing with the subs downfiring, or both side firing with the port the same or different direction etc...?

Port and subs downfiring for ported.

I recommend sealed for a much flatter response. I like my peaky bass and all... but there's a point when it quite too much...

Haha no kidding... I've always gone sealed, well, 80 percent of the time, but this time I want something that just gets loud while sounded decent (SQL) since my pair of 10's are really geared towards SQ and sound amazing.
