And in my opinion I think the Q is a better sub in just about every application.

Your opinion is formed off of unequal installs. I am not arguing your opinion, you can think what you want, I am debating your way of coming to that opinion.

 

Do not tell me to relax, I did not blow up. You were taking a negative approach about the ICON when you have never heard it and you have seen ONE review with TL numbers.

 

I know and love the Q, I have no problem with it at all. Take two seconds and think about it from my perspective, if you were in my shoes you would look at it the same way.

I don't blame him for defending the Icon considering the fact that you're making an unfounded claim. You're basing your entire opinion on your experience with one woofer and some numbers you read online. Have you heard both subs? Do numbers mean everything? Hell, even if they did mean everything, the numbers aren't even comparable because they weren't taken in a control environment with all other factors held constant.

Who cares? They're both quality subs from the same OEM for virtually the same price. Just pick a sub that suits your application and run with it.

People who have absolutely no basis for why they think speaker A performs better than speaker B should not be listened to, period.

He is referring to Mark. And apparently the topic Mark made about the ICON when it first came out, exactly like other manufacturers do on this very forum is suddenly a problem.

Your problem is spam on the forum. Well...

a) It's not your forum; the administrator and his moderator team (which includes Denim) will monitor and administrate the forum as they see fit

b) Every company has advertizement in some form, it's just that some cannot afford to put it on your television 100 times a day. The only issue I would have is if they were always pushing the ICON and never giving the due respect other products deserve, but that hasn't been the case.

I think it's easy to see, at this juncture, that your reason for speaking poorly of the ICON is without validity.

seriously. I'm going to have to agree with what everyone else said about the subs as well. Why would Denim be bias over the icon anyways whenever he and mark run SSA and host the forums for the icon and Fi???????????????????

Regardless if he has a big role in the Icons coming around.....they still are over at the same forum.

And I have no problem with your opinion.
But I am telling you, I see what they are doing and have a problem with it. That is all. If you don't care that they are breaking forum rules, and using the forum for purposes other than that they were intended for, that is perfectly fine. I am just not the type of person to let things like that fly.

And that's fine. But please be sure to address the other companies with members doing the same.
