Which one of these subs will perform better. I know the new alpine can handle 1,000 rms and i'm sure the GCON wouldn't have an issue catching up.

I'd take the Gcon over the Type R...3" coil vs a 2" coil

I think I'd rather go Gcon too but I'm curious as to how those new Type R's sound... Not many reviews yet and 200 bucks a pop seems excessive.

id take a pair of the new Type-S underhung coil style. should sound very nice.
