how the hell do you get the spida to light up? or the volt meters to work?

I have it as a distro, and it splits the power great...remote, and power is running through it right now.

4ga to 4ga power split.

the lights do not light up...do I need to run the ground through it as well?

Look on the powerplant, see if there are any other connections for a ground or a remote.
