square trade? is it worth it

I recentely bought and infinity 5350a off ebay. Installed it myself and it sounds great. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

I got an email from ebay telling me I could get a 3-year warranty through square trade for 26 bucks.

Is it even worth it? The ebay store I bought it through has there own 1-year warranty. As they aren't an authorized dealer.

What do you guys think?

I've heard that square trade offered a decent warranty, but you have to jump through their hoops if something dies.

Generally, I say to stay away from the extended warranty. My only exception is that I usually will purchase the "no questions asked" warranty from Best Buy on MP3 players because I have had horrible luck with MP3 players over the years. My MP3 players will usually die in the weirdest freak accidents.... Like my iPod that had its firmware wiped clean by a frigging cell phone thus bricking the iPod.

ive read alot of positive things about the square trade warranty

i bought one for my dnx8120, it was about 120ish I think, as long as you dont heavily mod your stuff I dont see why they wouldnt honor the warranty.

I think alot of people go though with it and dont post anything. its only the negative you read, as with most stuff.

If you have ever had to shop for insurance and read some comments that are online, you will know what I mean
