sql subwoofers

I have the Id max's and love them but you just want loud so go with something else like AQ they are loud and cheap. What exactly is your budget on this?
I have read a couple of thread today and I find it strange that people recommend AQ instead of DD. (I'm not a DD freak //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ) For what reason?

Is AQ that cheap?

Is AQ that much better?

Is DD being hated much more lately?

Just wanna know, sorry for hijacking the thread...

The AQ HDC3 is extremely similar to the DD 9500 series, for considerably less money. Is the extra money worth it for the DD? Definitely in some situations, but probably not for a daily system (non hard-core SPL setup).So...

1) Yes

2) No

3) No

To the OP, if you are wanting to be heard 'blocks away' you are not looking for a SQ system. Period.

What's your current alt? If you are gonna truely go SQ, you wont be needing tons of power, so you wont be needing a bank of batts. Maybe consider adding a single rear batt, as I like doing that anyway. For the alt, depends what you have, what your listening habits are, etc. Unless its cut and dry (wanting to run multi thousands of watts off an 80 amp alt for continuous play), you are better off just trying the alt you have to see how well it works. Just... carry jumper cable with you the first few weeks. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

hahah

yea i dont think it would be a bad idea to add an extra battery or two as the system will be used ALOT and it would drain a single battery faster. or maybe just have an extra one but not have it hooked up until i need. couldnt hurt //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif And yea, jumper cables, got it! Wat kind? LOL. JP //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I honestly feel like my Polk Audio SR-124 DVC sounds AWESOME in the SQ department. It is their Signature Reference sub so it's built for SQ and it can handle 700w RMS. I'm running 500 rms to it right now in an oversized sealed box and the lows hit really well. Crazy loud in the car and hardly a peep heard outside the car(Fat Mat to hell and back in the car).

Another great SQ option is the JBL GTI series subs. After all, the GTI guys have won the SQ competitions for how many of the past years?
