SQL subs, yes i did a search!

I'm looking for a good SQ sub that gets loud, SQL! I listen to lots of different music from rock to rap and want something that has good SQ but can still hit the low notes and get loud in rap songs. I'm looking at 15" subs and im going to be putting one in a single ported box in the trunk of a 2000 maxima as a daily driver. Basically i want to be able to listen to rock too with the sub.

I'v been looking at the IA Deathrow 15" but i cant find much information on them or how they compare to a SI Mag, FI Q, SSA Icon, or RE SX.

Thoughts!

out of your list, your best bet for an "sql" sub would be the Fi Q

i wouldnt consider the AQ or the IA "SQL" subs.

although, i dont really look at "SQL" as an option.

IA's website's description of the Deathrow is "The DR is geared as much toward SQ as it is SPL, so this would be considered by many to be the ultimate SQL woofer."

I guess i could add the SSA Icon to the list to...

RE MX is to expensive... I could go with a RE SX thou.

the older mags have great sound quality and get very very loud, someone did 150+ on 2 15's but i don't remember wattage, it wasn't much tho 3k-4k.

the mach 5 IXL is a good SQL driver, the fi Q, re SE's get decently loud and sound good, the XXX and the MX. the sd2.5 from aq supposedly sounds really really good for how loud itll get but i don't know first hand, hope that helps

HDC tuned to 35hz in 4 cubes will do all that you want. Turn it down some and it'll blend fine with your front stage and crank it up when you're in the mood.

I have HDC's and a Q and I prefer the SQ of the HDC's as the Q is a tad bottom heavy (meaning boomy at times).
