I see thread after thread about "wanting a SQ this or SQ that" I am curious to see how some of you define SQ setup. Now I know there a lot of intelligent people on here, but thats not my point. Maybe something might come out of this thread to help some of the guys that never have heard a true SQ car.

most people can't tell a difference in sq between 2 quality subs, providing that they are in the correct box for the specific sub. fronts are where sq lives.

The ability to replicate music to my taste. This all changes at a show as then we are working tonality, spectral balance, width, depth, center, height ect.

That's why its good to have two SQ settings, mine and the judges. My taste are 98% of the way my vehicle is tuned for a comp. I just like a brighter top end and more low end.

SQ is whatever you like and the way you want to hear it.IMO

I do agree some speakers **** at doing anything correctly and some are in the 98 percentile of reproduction(simple term producing good/pleasant sound).

Nothing should be "identifiably heard" in an SQ setup.

"My system sounds warm with a sparkling top end" = You're doing it wrong.
