Take my car, and the equipment I have right now, and whip up a box louder than what I have right now. Put our skills up against each other. If it's so easy why have I built countless numbers of boxes and have so many hours in my car and can pull off a high 145 on the NTL. I have a hard time believing a 13 year old kid (such as yourself I take it?) could throw a comp-winning box together like nobody's business.
Uneducated arrogant people ****.

You guys apparently stopped reading the thread //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif We already determined that he wasn't talking about a competition system, but rather a "loud to the ear" street system //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

lets just leave it at they both take alot of work, knowledge, patience and skill. but yes ANYONE can make a loud system but not EVERYONE can squeeze a few extra db's w/o spending a dime and while remaining in the same class. sq is the same way alot of tweaking and time involved.

Nick (NDMstang65) ... that's his extreme SPL wagon.

And yes, that is zane's install //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

well I was being somewhat sarcastic about speakers and Amps but COME ON...I can say withou a doubt that making a LOUD system is easy in comparison to SQ...I don't even have a favorite either.it's just common sense.BUT NO SHIT THAT IT TAKES ALOT MORE TIME TO INSTALL AN SPL SYSTEM THAN AN SQ SYTEM.MORE POWER WIRING ETC....But you are never going to convince me that SPL requires immense Technical knowledge regarding sound dynamics and technical speaker specs..etc.. etc.. And No doubt SPL guys will take exeption to that.

Gime me 4 15" Adire Brahmas in a Bandpass Box with 1500 watts each.

see how easy that was.

Now try and tell me how to combine specific Mids, Tweets,Horns,Subs to reach optimum frequency range, Imaging, Crossover slopes..in a 6X6 vehicle cab with Dynamat Extreme so that the center channel seem vivid with depth and clarity without the highs too piercing nor bass too muddy below 40HZ and maintaining proper satellite locations......BLAH...BLAH...BLAH...ETC>>ETC>>>ETC>>>>I think you get the point.I have no Idea what I just wrote....Some people do..like SQ guys!

Plus why do people starT in SPL and then gaduate to SQ???????????
You did not just say bandpass. Please...tell me you didn't say bandpass.

I don't consider a 16 year old kid with 2 mid-line 10s and 300 watts with a prefab ported box as having an 'SPL system'. When I talk SPL system I mean competition system, with competition solely in mind, not bumping around on a friday night trying to impress the women. Maybe I misunderstood.

How many times do people come on here and say "I am looking for all out SPL. I don't care about sound quality, I just want that shit to bump hard." A lot (unfortunately). And how often does the forum recommend 2 mid-line 10s and a 300w amp? None. So I really don't know why you included that in your statement. And those guys aren't going to be running through the lanes with the system, they use it to impress their friends and whatnot while cruising around. That is a street SPL setup. Gets loud, and that's all they are worried about.

A vast number of people cruising around with RE, Kicker, Adire, etc bought the subs because they get loud for a good price; and that is the only reason.

My God..what is the Next debate gonna be. how about "Which sport requires more athleic skill...GOLF or Football? essentially the same debate as this one!
If your comparing spl to football and sq to golf I guess your somewhat correct. Golf is the most mentally challenging game I can think of. And in a sense sq can be equally as challenging in car audio. Whereas football, not at the skill positions (QB & WR), requires someone who spends a couple hours in the gym each day and who is fast. But, as in golf you do need some knowledge [not much:)] to learn the complex patterns and options in football.

Alright I doubt any of that makes sense to anyone but I just lost my train of thought and I have no idea what I just wrote so flame away. Just thought I'd chime in on that little comment. BTW I find spl equally as challenging as sq but I get more satisfaction out of sq:). have a nice day.

You asked for it;)
Are you saying that the O-Line, RB, TE, LB, DB, K/P D-Lines aren't 'skilled' positions?

YOU'RE WRONG!

O-Line - need someone strong enough to hold off defenders, to be able to hold their ground, to know when to move, to know their blocking schemes.

RB - someone who is fast, great hands, well balanced, good center of gravity, great agility, knows their blocking schemes, routes, ability to make absurd cuts.

LB - good in coverage, holds their own, make the tackle, shed blockers, read offenses, speed is a bonus.

DB - speed, make-up speed, great hands, ablity to tackle, shed blockers, read offenses, great in coverage.

D-Line - need someone strong enough to shed off opposers, close gaps, to be able to hold their ground, to know who to tackle, to know where the ball is at all times, give their teamates time to make a play.

K/P - strong, accurate leg.

Many others I'm leaving out.

Those sound like skilled positions to me;)

****..I did not even know his was going on still..LOL

First of all I am not 13 I am 32..No doubt that the younger you are the higher the chances you want SPL not SQ so that theory don't fly.

Again..for every day listeners if you are telling me you are using an Engineering degree to make your Sub box, thats killing me!!!HAHAHAHA!!!]

I mean jeez..I am not picking sides but I think it is obvious that the SPL crowd tries way too hard to make thier thing more valid. Every time I make a comment, I get the same Response "IT'S NOT EASY TO DO AN SPL SYSTEM"

They try so hard to make it look as if it is indeed Rocket Science..It's not..I may not be a pro..But I have been around long enough to know what it really takes to build a system of SQ or SPL quality..And in my opinion SQ is more "brainwork", you can't throw all this crap in my face and think I don't know what I am talking about from a "enthusiasts" point of view..You SPL guys are like the Wizard of Oz behind the curtain, telling us we are all rookies and stupid if we don't respect how hard it is to get an SPL system..Sorry I let the cat outta the bag!

Come on!

A TOP FUEL DRAGSTER..know that is SPL thats hard to get!

I AGREE FOOTBALL IS A HIGHLY TECHNICAL SPORT.
