If you are really going for the sound quality that the 800PRS puts out, an auxiliary input is a joke. Unless you are using store bought cd's or Lossless audio MP3's then its a waste of a stereo and your money.

I agree with this. The 800PRS sounds excellent with CD's, but beyond that it can only accept lossy files and - depending upon the listener- are to degrees lesser sounding than the CD playback. The outboard USB adapter doesn't play *.wav so with this unit no way to play higher resolution files other than CD. If you don't mind, then it's an excellent unit.

I'm selling my 800 and the outboard unit and replacing with a newer 710BT. No 24 bit, but plays *.wav and no need for other expensive outboard units for BT. My other Premiere unit (can't recall the model . . . couple years old) also doesn't have 24 bit but plays *wav files and has excellent BT capability. Weighing the 24-bit vs lossless *.wav file for mobile use, I've chosen the alternative as the lossless files played through my PS Audio unit sound as good as I'd like in my auto; the lossy files don't. Add to that the head unit I have works perfect with a 64GB Patriot mem stick.

CD > all other formats in the vehicle. Sure it's a HUGE hassle to open a jewel case and get another CD out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif. But I'll just keep being inconvenienced at this time. Small price to pay for arguably the best format ever. Especially for vehicle use.

USB negates the SQ.

USB is okay, better than 3.5 mm headphone jacks. And an SQ head unit with USB will still sound better than a non-SQ headphone jack with USB. But not as good as CD.
