Just gotta rant here a little bit. Recently I moved, and where I moved to my cell phone through Sprint doesn't work. Pretty much If you don' have Verizon here, your phone won't work. So I called Sprint to terminate my service, and then the headaches started.
When I called on Dec.23rd to cancel my service, I was told that it would be $300 for early termination fees. WTF?? One for each phone on the SAME CONTRACT?? If that ain't shady, and doesn't convince you that Sprint sucks, read on. I asked why I have to pay the early termination fees, informed the agent that I was now in a no-service area, and they told me that my moving isn't their fault! Ok, so they didn't force me to move, but they claim nationwide coverage, and this is happening less than an hour outside DC!
Now it gets really ridiculous. I asked this woman to speak to someone higher up. She said, "there is no one higher". So I proceeded to ask her if she was the President of the company. She said no. So I informed her that in that case then there is, in fact, at least one person higher up than her, if not a couple hundred.
Amazingly she locates a supervisor! That just amazes me how that happens. And I tell him what's going on. Inform him I have been a customer since 2000, and the only reason I was under a new contract was because I got married and they made me renew to add my wife. He seemed to be decent enough, and we came to an agreement that Sprint would credit back one of the early termination fees. Sounded good to me, although I don't think I should pay any of them. I hung up mostly satisfied, although I was irritated it took me over 45 minutes of bickering to get it done.
So today, I get my final bill in. Guess what's on there? BOTH EARLY TERMINATION FEES! My fuse is officially blown. I called Sprint, and demanded to know what was going on. I was told that somewhere between when I hung up on the 23rd, and the day the bill was issued, Sprint decided they weren't going to credit me the $150 promised to me by their agent! And they did this without any notification! So I'm on the warpath, destroying customer service agents in my path. Then, one tells me she needs to transfer me to another department, and HANGS UP! I call back. Can you see the steam coming out of my ears? Because I'm sure the first one who answered this time could, because I think she's deaf now. I demanded a supervisor, and voila! I got one right away! I guess all you have to do is yell really loudly. Now this ******* only will give me $75 off the early termination fees. So I said thank you, f**k you, and I'm glad I'm back with Verizon after a 6 year hiatus. I would have never dropped Verizon except when I moved to NC, they had no service coverage. And wouldn't you know it? They simply said, ok, account closed. No early termination fee for moving!
Now I have officially filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, requesting the other $75 their agent promised. I won't hold my breath for it though. I just wanted to write this to let everyone know that SPRINT SUCKS BALLS! DO NOT GET CELLULAR SERVICE THROUGH SPRINT. There's a reason Consumer Reports listed them as bottom of the barrell.
