i was told that as it breaks down over time that it causes some kind of corrosion issue. the shop that installed my system may have just been trying to sell " the dumb red head broad" dampener tho, i asked about it cuz it was way cheaper. but $900 was well spent, my minivan has no rattles.

The foam does not break down and cause corrosion. lmao! Thats a good one. lol

The only thing to worry about is too much foam causing too much pressure as it expands thus causing the outside skins to bow outward. Not a desirable effect.

Best bet is to spray it sparingly to avoid the over expansion of the panels. Personally I'd say go with actual dampener instead of the foam, but it's up to you. Just make sure you don't block off any wires or connections that you'll need to get at someday, for repairs or something.

You'll find a lot of shops have guys working there that think they know it all, but don't. They're just good salespeople, they can make anything sound right to the undereducated.

two words BOAT FOAM comes in two parts mixed 1 to 1 ratio will take some time to get good w/it but well worth it hell i use it for every thing fills all gaps in any thing expands alot but very little out ward pressure

I too have an extended cab, and I will try the boat foam. Now that I have my ported SX10 up and running alot of rattles have made themselves be known.

Also, a good salesman is one who tells the truth. I'm a sales rep and every one of my top customers is now doing business with me because I shoot straight.
