splitting rca's does it do anything?

my deck has one preout and I will be using a 4 channel amp that has 4 rca inputs. I was wondering if i used a rca splitter the ones that have one female on one side and two male rca's on the other does that impact the signal to the amplifier.

Hoping someone knows the answer to this.

Are you installing 4 speakers?

If youre replacing the stock speakers (LR, RR, LF, RF) and use the Y cable, you will lose ability to use the fade setting.

If you are indeed using all 4 channels on the amp, then go right ahead. You won't be changing the signal at all.

Does the amp have the ability to internally route the signal to all four channels from only one pair of inputs? Many do. It will save you the trouble and expense of y-cables.
