spl vs sound quality

Yeah a very nice sq system is pricey.. But when you have a spl guy buying mulitple amps, subs, batteries, power wire, etc.. it adds up alot as well.. This is a wide open question...

lol sq is so much more expensive... i know a guy who has 2000lb of dynamat in his truck... but he got it for free //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

ok, and some spl guys use sound deadener too.

some guys even fill their f'in car with cement.

why would you put 2000lb of dynamat in your trunk ? i honestly do not understand the concept behind it. Cement, fiberglass, im sure their are 100 other ways todo it cheaper..assuming you had to pay if you didnt have pay then by all means go ahead!

It all depends. Both SQ and SPL guys put good use to LOTS and LOTS of deadening. Both can find super expensive components, head units, and external processors.

IMO An SPL guy would spend more money on subs and amps because he/she needs lots of power to put up good numbers. SQ people dont need more than 500rms for substage and 50rms per tweeter/midbass because they are going for quality over stupid loud.

Overall i would say it is easier to spend lots of money for SPL than it is for SQ, but again it depends on the person and the amount of money they choose to dedicate towards the system. I am pretty sure no matter what someone has in their car they can spend more money on it.

I think a winning higher class spl vehicle will cost more and what it really comes down to is wire and batteries. I have never seen an sq guy with more powerwire than me or one with more batteries than say Bob Perillo or any other SS or Ex competitor.

Id def say SPL, because of the quantity you usually have to buy to get loud on the TL. 8 SAZ-1500D's arent cheap //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

most hardcore sq guys will spend 3-5k for a nice set of just comps..that will buy alot of $400 subs or $300 batteries
sq will probably cost more in the long run...
**** thats interesting ive never seen a pair for that much is there any way you could link some? Not trying to be a smartass.
