Not common sense really. I've had this box for over a year and never had problems up until about 2 weeks ago. Therefore you can understand why I tried everything else out first. I was convinced it was an electrical issue. I pwnt myself.common sense > j00
If I could have made a thicker baffle, that would have been my first choice. Unfortunately I don't have the room for that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gifmy baffle is 2.25'' thick
Personally, I would rather have the threaded rod over the wooden dowels. I think I would run into the same problem with the dowels eventually (loosening screws, breaking the glue joint, etc.). Threaded rod > wood. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifbracing is MUCH lighter than additional baffles. I just got pwnt with my 9917 breaking my box. Shook the(unbraced temp box) baffle right off. Ripped just above where the glue soaked into the MDF //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Now I get this great fffapp faaap sound when it's turned up. Round closet rod would be my internal support of choice seeing as how it's less work to get installed. Teh threaded rod is ChevyAudio's favorite box addition.
That's exactly how you do it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifI have never seen a box with a threaded rod in it...
do you just tap a hole on one side than another and then thread the nuts on it so that they tight on the inside and outside of each wall?
I have seen 2"x4"s, but not any threaded rods...
And you never got to hear the 15. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.giftommys truck is teh loud.
