SPL TEST Sundown sa-12 vs. Fi BTL Termlab results

If anything the bigger box helps negate the massive powerhandling advantage that the BTL has. Smaller boxes don't build more pressure. Pressure comes from the port itself and the cone. A smaller box will be less acoustically effecient making the difference between a 2 and 3 inch coil worse.

All this proves to me in the vid , Is for (most ) of us who just want a loud daily setup with less than 2k power, that you dont have to get the best sub and that the little dogs can keep up.. The ONLY reason Im probably not gonna try the SA 12s is because I just sold my lvl 3s and doubt there would be any audible difference at all

Most higher end SPL subs advantage is that they are more durable. This durability comes at price. To make them nearly indestructable they are relatively ineffecient often have high distortion and are very hard to make musical at all.

I was thinking the same thing. Bigger box = more efficient...to a point. If you're not maxing the sub out mechanically, keep going bigger(again, to a point). //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Yup, the only issue is you have to be able to adjust your tuning to keep the box peaking where you want. If the designer is capable of doing that then your good to go.
