OK me and a few friends in town are considering doing a SPL project vehical in the next few years, my question is, sence the 12 XXX and Bramha 12 are the same price what would do better with about 1200 watts in a 3 cube ported box each, were thinking about doing 2 12s and 2 nine.1 straped together, all in a cut-through in an old s-10.

not hardly..

the HC woofer is the most un-spl woofer RE sells...

the Stock SE is louder... the *special* SE kills it.. the XXX owns it

I've used all 3... throw the HC out as a choice for SPL..

back to the question.. the XXX gets a lil bit louder than a brahma...

OOO...i have been, misinformed then. I kinda found it hard to believe that a 1200 watt sub would be louder then 1600, but i guess i just wasnt thinking:banghead: //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif

i think of it as more of a Sql sub - but urmm...it can and will get loud to the ear, the meter just seems to not like them though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

its a loud daily use woofer...

there is a huge difference in an driver thats loud on a meter.. and one that loud to ear.. completely different areas.. the SE is a mid Q high Fs driver, that yields a very high peak when in a large ported box.. and that translates into a loud on the meter SPL sub...

the Hc is a low Q, daily use woofer... that can be tuned very low, and give you excellent results with musical bass..

in my wall.. the Stock SE's were six-tenths of a db louder than the Hc's.. on the meter.. but you could tune the HC's lower, which made them sound much louder to ear..
