I have an enclosure tuned for daily at about 38Hz right now but since I got a TL I wanna build a strictly SPL enclosure for Street B. I want to get as close to 150 dB (legal) as possible and I'm hoping for at least 145 dB.
It will be in an '01 Accord sedan ran by a Kicker ZX 2500.1 (birthsheet of 2545w) and I'll have a kinetik hc 1400 under the hood with the big 3 and all wiring in 1/0 welding cable. I do have an hc 1800 in the trunk but for street B i can only use the battery under the hood if i remember correctly (only competed once). My max OUTER dimensions to work with would be 24" depth, 30.5" wide, and 16" high. The sub will need to be firing up. I can't make the enclosure any taller (maybe 17" but no more) because there is some stupid thing that blocks enclosure for being pushed more into the rear, otherwise it would probably be only 16" deep if i wanted to make it a couple inches taller, so its pointless really, thus goin with those dimensions i mentioned. My question is, what should I tune the port to? I have been told by someone to tune a few frequencies below the resonant frequency of the vehicle. If this is true, how would I find the resonant frequency of the vehicle? I also have two 15" long PSP aero ports, but not sure if that would be of any use to this enclosure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
