anyone know where i can get a portable db meter that is not too pricey? just a small one i want to try to meter my subs

whats ur equipment....us car audio guys can guess dbsssssssss pretty close

i have only two 6 inch passive bazookas running of the rear channels of an alpine mrp-f250 I think i am pushing 40 rms but the bazookas really pump off the alpine i have low pass and bass boost.

I woudnt waste your money on a SPL meter....your probly @ 160 dbz

im gonna make a well educated guess. Factoring in bass boost (lets say 50%) and assuming your car is moderate sized without sound dampening im gonna say around 12 deebeez

I think you'll find yourself square between those two numbers, and probably closer to 115 deebeez...

Nah man, we got guys pullin 200s on music nowadays...

They can only do it once because it causes a small earthquake, but it's worth the wow factor.

i would be pretty satisfied with 115 that is a pretty good level
