do it, i like to see something different. it might surprise you and do really well. thats a pretty good amount of cone area compared to 2 12"s. with enough power, it might dominate over 2 12"s ported. maybe not the highest numbers, but better lows and sound better overall

I bet it could be done if you build your sealed enclosure to peak near your vehicle's resonant frequency and run a test tone at your vehicle's resonant frequency. The only problem is your setup will probably sound like utter crap on music.

Uh.... I've built a sealed enclosure that resonates @ 70 Hz before. In fact, I am about to build another one because I plan on using this:

I've also modeled certain subwoofers sealed and played around with enclosure size to get them to peak at +3db @ 50 Hz. It can be done!

For a trunk car, 2 12's or 1 15" is as big as you are going to PROPERLY fit.

Key word there is properly. Especially if he's trying to be competitive.

It's definitely possible to tune a sealed box.

All one needs to do is play with enclosure size in some modeling software, like WinISD or BassBox Pro. This works for sealed as well as ported!

I'm running a single 12 right now and it's fun!

You could probably get a high score out of your trunk with 2 10's. Brandon Dunn posted a 150.4 last year in S1 out of a Cavalier trunk.
