spl competitors using sealed boxes

are there any true spl competitors that use sealed boxes anymore? Just wondering. if so why sealed?

I ask because I was considering doing 2 15's in my trunk but they'd have to be sealed and that to me just seems absurd for spl competition whenever i get back to doing them

back in the mid 90's i used to compete with 6 JL 15's W0's sealed in a 1991 camaro doing high 140's.the differences that i know about are

sealed = more power handling and tighter response

ported = +3DB and boomier lows

You'd have to have an azz load of subs, or find a sub that has retarded useable xmax and power handling to pull that off. The efficiency just isn't there in a sealed box to pull that off unless you did a wall of subs.

I like the sound of sealed better than ported, but it just takes too much power/subs/money to get the same output that ported gives me, so I have to sacrifice somewhere

Sealed enclosures are for SQ. not output...

What about 1 18' ported? off 4000wrms?

Many of the loudest Bassrace and Bassboxing cars have sealed boxes.
