SPL box

I am looking into building my own boxes for speakers, in general if I am building boxes for 6x9 speakers, what will get a high SPL out of them. I am not interested in great quality, but want to get loud. I of course dont want to have any speakers sound like crap though. I'll probably use whatever suggestions you guys give me to get as loud as I can and then do whatever trade offs I can to get my quality to where I want it at. I just want to be able to get as loud as possible right now. Also, I am just using old speakers that I have laying around so it is for a variety of speaker types so I just want general ideas that will work for speakers in general without taking into consideration what speakers I am using. Thanks for any help you can give.
