If I hear you correctly, These subs would be well built, and for the dollars perform comparable to the old Jl line.Yes, they are supposed to be clones of the original W6 line. T/S specs between them are the same. People who've used both seem to say that the performance is very similar, only the SPL version bottoms out a little sooner. Some people have torn them both down and claim that they do indeed use the same parts (same gap sizes, same voice coils, etc). The W6's used all off the shelf parts, so it's wouldn't be hard for a company to clone them. Just purchase the same parts and assemble them.
Though you can easily find them for half the price that guy on ebay is selling them for. I believe the model number is JWS 10 and JWS 12.
Do some searching over on http://www.elitecaraudio.com, there were some very indepth threads about those subwoofers.

Thanks KnOkIn It 420Yea they are basically a PA mofo,I havent heard the mofos myself( seen videos they look like they got loud)but I hear things,Great subs for a budget, but personally I would get the "W6 look alikes" or "W6 perform alikes"For that price buy like 4 and feed them some power, W6 are some impressivly loud and sound great!
Performance would be similar to that of the older W6 series. Build quality would not inherently be similar, however. They could have used different glues, different tolereances in production, different suppliers, etc etc that would alter build quality. If I hear you correctly, These subs would be well built, and for the dollars perform comparable to the old Jl line.
