Spending over 2 grand at once?

My advice - open an orange account at IMG online banking with their 5.05% interest rate. Put the $5K in there. Don't touch it except to pay for the rent. You'll get like a $25 dollar bonus plus about $20 bucks in interest a month (at the beginning, it'll obviously go down every month). Over the coarse of the year you'll get an extra couple of hundred that you wouldn't have had if you would have paid up front.

and?

Lets say you or (I) decide to move in these apartments, and decide to pay my rent for a whole year in advance so you worry about no payment making of any sort. If I put over 2k down, is someone going to be investigating where the cash came from or no? Someone mentioned in the last thread something about over 2 grand.
your a fag.

dude before posted some so i figured i would post and show him there's ALWAYS 1 step higher. As i am sure there is alot of people on here alot more steps higher than me lolzzzz
ah. gotcha:) true. i don't know why anyone would carry that much cash.. instead of investing it, or at the least putting it in a checking account..

I'd write out a check if I were you. Once you hand over that cash, what do you have to prove that it even existed? At least with a check there is a paper trail should something happen. Besides, if ya get jacked on the way to pay, your SOL with cash. Not to mention the place may not take it, for the very same reasons mentioned above.....

Lol ur thinkin about the walking up to them and giving them cash? The landowner might get suspicious but wouldn't say anything unless the cops came around. But yes, they will investigate if ur walking around with $5k in cash for no reason whatsoever.
why? ever done it before? thats the way i paid my rent this last year. it makes life easier for me. they also gave me a decent discount and private parking which is cool until my house is being built.

i have paid 6 months and a years worth of rent at a time before... no one is gonna investigate it like oh shit someone spent 7-8 grand... if they did then they would be busy for life cause people spend that kinda money daily...

I haven't read the rest of the thread - only this above-quoted opening post so if my response mimics something that has already been covered then I apologize in advance.

When I first moved out of home @ age 18 I did exactly what the OP is describing.

I went and rented an apartment in one of the better complexes here in town and to avoid worrying about having the rent in full on time every month I simply paid off the entire 12-month lease at one shot via a cashier's check from my bank.

I did not get investigated as to where I got the money and the complex manager was happy to have me do it.

That made for at least one apartment she never had to concern herself with between the 1st and 5th every month as that bill was already paid.

Just put in a bank and write a check. Banks, or the one I worked at, only have to do a report if its over 10,000.00 to send to the IRS. Otherwise its just cash. Id imagine businesses have similar policies.

Yeah, I don't think anyone would investigate, unless they were just out to screw someone over intentionally. Still, you went with a cashiers check, assumably already made out to the rental association? I would just be leery of carrying that much in normal cash myself...no proof of payment, no paper trail, and if someone finds out your holding, and word gets around...well, things can happen...

anyone else noticing that all of this fools threads revolve around possessing an excessive amount of cash at one time....i say we all stop giving this idiot advice as it is seeming an awful lot like he is doing something quite stupid
