It sucks to get a speeding ticket, always plan ahead to have more time, thats what my ticket taught me.

Driving a 1500 Ram one time, not used to a V8, Im speeding up this business area backroad(really dead, barely any cars or police) I look around the bend and I see a cop car hidden in front of a tree/bush. Needless to say he blurps me, doing 95 in a 40 mph zone. He said he should arrest me for reckless driving, writes me a ticket and tells me to "slow the f*ck down":laugh:

yeah my buddy was on his crotch rocket and was going 33 over and got a $330 ticket. The day after he paid it we were walking through walmart and he was pretty sad looking at all the things he could have bought with that money (including guns lol)

One speeding ticket doesn't hit the insurance rates hard for me. If I pile them up in a 3 year period, then there's trouble. If a person is under 18, there are additional laws in Oregon that can punish the young driver in ways that adult drivers don't have to deal with by suspending their license.

The most important thing is to pay the ticket if you are found guilty. Don't pay and troubles escalate. If you cannot afford to pay the ticket at that time, ask the judge for a payment plan. You can divvy up the payment into bite-sized slices that way.

If you have the time, go for the trial. If the cop doesn't show up, you win. If he does show, tell your story, take your hit and move on.

Don't even have to pay the ticket here if you opt to go to driving school.

And as far as the "cop no show" method....When I had to go to court to get driving school, a cop wasn't there to testify against someone on their traffic violation. Judge gave the offender another date where the cop could be there!

Driving school gets it dropped in my state. $40 and 3 boring hours of class. but its worth it.

My friend is 17 and drives an S2000. Since January he got one speeding ticket about 4 months ago. Another speeding ticket 2 weeks ago, a ticket for an illegal u-turn 4 days ago, and a speeding ticket today (He has a beltronics Sti). When he called me earlier today he said he was trading his car in today, not sure if he did or not

whats trading in his car have to do with anything? no matter what car he drives hell still be a retard that cant drive. hopefully one day hell kill himself in a crash or an innocent person, maybe then hell learn. or his shitty parents will learn not to buy a nice car for a little shithead that doesnt deserve it.

$140 for a ticket? Shit man, that's not bad at all.

I got pulled over on i95 a couple weeks ago doing 96 in a 70.

He was sitting under an over pass bridge. As soon as I saw him come out, I was pulling over before he even had his lights on. Got to the side of the road, put my hazards on, and got all my papers and license out for him before he even got out of his car. He really appreciated that. He came up to the car, gave him my stuff, told him how the speedometer doesn't work, it was actually frozen at 50mph at the time, and he saw it and said, alright understandable.

He came back to the car, said I had two choices, take the $73.50 ticket for broken speedo, or take the two tickets for speeding and reckless driving (over 25 mph is considered reckless driving). I took the $73.50 one without hesitation.

Nicest Florida Highway Patrolman I've ever dealt with.

Invest in a good radar dector. My Passport 8500 picks up a police's radar before I can even see one.

I've done 120 in a 35 when I was a retarded fool:crap:. It was a little ways out of town and I just put my 4 barrel carburetor on. No cops saw but that was stupid of me. 16 years old and going 85 over.

I've never been pulled over for speeding but never speed anymore. I just go to the tracks.

Here in MA they did not used to have traffic school but probably do now for speeding. It used to be an automatic 2 points on your record for seven years which comes out to about $100-400/yr depending on how much you pay for insurance.

I once got caught with a buddy (not me driving) for 120+in a 55, $600 ticket and I was really surprised they did not impound him but he paid the ticket and had the 2 points added for the few years and I think his went up about $250/yr.

Only speeding ticket I ever got was 80 in a 50, think it was about 220ish? Maybe the guy is trading it in to slow himeself down. You know going from a fast car to something slow does do wonders in most cases. It worked for me. I also suggest not getting something that stands out. I have a basic looking car now, with just tint and mild mods, but I have become smarter with how I drive.

I see nothing wrong with him trying to buy a slower car, which is what I am sure he is thinking of doing.

Have you ever been in a powerful car before? If so it is hard to lay off the pedal. And don't give me that shit you would be smart and just not do it. Otherwise what is the point?

If its his only ticket MAYBE the insurance Co will not do a thing but as soon as he gets one more ticket they will whack him for both

Speeding is a game,tickets are big business and I would fight the ticket

.......I always fight every ticket....its a 50/50 shot you'll get off or a reduction for a not guilty plee
