When I purchase my components I am planning on installing the woofer in the door and the tweet in the factory location in the dash. My question is, which is a better setup; factory locations, or if I can, mounting the tweeter in the door right next to the woofer? Eventually I would like to make kickpanels, but at the moment I have no time or skill to do so, and no one make them for my car yet. Thansk for the help.

Sorry about the typo in the title.

Just because there is an OEM hole for a speaker does not mean it's a good location for one.

I would mount the tweeter next to the woofer in the door... or better yet... if the stock mid location is in or around the front-bottom corner of the door, see if the tweeter would fit in the kick panel.

Kick panel mounting of all the drivers is a good idea for the future.

Thats what I thought, you want the tweet and woofer as close as possible so the sound hits your ear at the same time correct? Would this be the same for the rear doors also?

Another question, since I have the stock locations free in the dash, could I put a 4" speaker in there or would that mess up the sound? I know they will fit there with a little modification.

Same for the rear speakers, keep the tweeter close to the mid.

I really have not seen good dash locations for speakers. If they fire at the windsheild, there are too many reflections off the glass that hit your ears first and make them sound bad.

I would say try the tweets in the dash . See if you like them . //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I decided that I am going to try them in both loications. Of course I need to order them first. My dash location and the door are just about the same distance from my ear. The dash is slightly closer. So I will see what sounds better and go from there.
