How is this system for a 16 year old.

Currently I have a JL 12 w1v2, running off a GTO301.1 II. I have 3.5 Infiniti Reference in the front and 4'' Alpine Type S in the back powered off a CS60.4.

I am looking to upgrade too two 15'' Kicker CompVR's. Running both of those at 1ohm off a Hifonics BX1205D.

(im getting my sub off crutchfield.com because they have the cheapest price for two.)

Sub (x2) $230

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-qbhBYIsgbUq/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?I=2065C15VR4&wm=cl

Amp $198

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=14803

Total so far is $428. Then I will be buying box plans from someone on this forum for $15.

Thats $443.

Then were talking about maybe $40 for wood, right?

$483. Ughhhh

I already have the 4ga wire going from the battery to the Amp.

So then $23 for 10ga

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=12891

$506 Total. Plus .08 sales tax to everything -$15 for the box plans.

So $39.28 total for tax.

Grand Total $545.28

Worth it for a 16 year old? Ill be giving my old sub and amp to my brother for Xmas.

And a question with these subs.. Will they be too loud? Or because my speakers are amped will it blend real nice?

For the same price as the BX1205D, I can get you the BX1605D //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif Brand new, Factory sealed, and the same warranty as OCS. Pm me if you'd like it.

I was lookin at that, but a friend said I could save some cash and get that one.

Hmmm.. I guess ill plan on getting that one. Id like to save as much money as possible though.

Ill keep it in mind though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

okay, I was also looking at saving you a little money on those CVR's but at most it'd be $5. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

But overall, the setup looks pretty good. Much better than my first one...cough*8" Bazooka tube*cough...

Your going to be running JL Just like every other 16 year old I see who didn't succumb to the cheapness of boss lol.
I already am. There is no going to be.. Lol im already there.

Looking to get some more bump for my rap.

****, well thanks for lookin man.

Age is not a factor really... I don't know of a system that could be affected by an age group really.
I'm 16 and I have thousands of dollars into a system, and I still want louder.

But yeah, it's a decent setup... my first setup was worse.
I would too. But my dad is the kind thats like 'If it aint broke dont fix it". Hell, I wanted to change out my w1v2 sealed into a 6th order bandpass. My dad was just like you had this professionally insalled and you want to change it?

Ugh. Its a pain..

But im worried about not having enough actual vocals and turning this into one of those Beaner Systems.. (as they are called in Chelan, where you hear nothing but bass). But hey, amps have gains for a reason //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Plus I can take this and stick it into any new car I get, so its not like lost cash.

The ONLY draw back to this is that I wont be able to afford anything else "big" afer I buy this. After this ill only have like 600 in the bank for gas.

But with http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KOL-AK4

that one I wont have to touch the engine again right? I dont want to mess with wiring to the batter. Haven't done that before.

And the only experience I have with wiring up an amp is with my friend, but hell its honestly not that hard. Im just learning it all slowly.. Ughh
That kit comes with new power and ground wire. If you honestly don't want to deal with it just buy a set of RCA's long enough to reach, and some speaker wire. 12AWG should do you plenty good.
