OK. Here goes.

I traded for a SS XXX6500d here a week ago. Just got it installed last Friday. Noticed a slight gain in power but not exactly sure I'm getting all it's capable of @ 14.4v. I had to set the gain fairly high (over 1/2 gain) to actually get it to start making power (Alpine CDA-117 4v outs and PAC RCA gain). Does anyone have experience with these and can chime in with tips or tricks? I just want to tweak it to find full potential. Also I have Toolmaker dual 1/0 alum inputs w/ dual 1/0 to amp from two rear yellowtops (biggest they make) then dual 1/0 to front redtop on a 200AMP h/o alt. Electrical is stout enough to keep it over 13v so I know it's not a power feeding problem. Will add info as asked...

It's a 3600W amp that'll do 5K or so @ 18V if you're lucky. A local guy runs the "10,000"W ones @ 18V and they only clamp around 6KW.

The Lanzar version of this amp is rated 4000W @ 14.4v

Well from reading clamp test and other items it's said multiple times that it will do 4200+ on 14 volts?

What did you "upgrade" from? The point is these really want high voltage to do anything close to rated power.

one Powerbass XA3000d is what it replaced. I do understand voltage is all that makes these do big numbers. But I can't believe it isn't impressing me more than what I had.

Well, even if it's actually doing 4KW for you, the difference between 3K and 4K will be under 1db
