i was looking at the hifonics BXi1206D to power this sub, i know it's rated at 1200rms@1ohm, i know overated, so i'm guessing it will be about 900rms...does that sound right, so if i set gains to full power, sqrt(1200)= 34.64volts, will that be good and not overpower my woofer?

full power, you mean gain the wall way up? you will have alot of clipping, and you shouldnt be guessing. it has to dowith current draw and efficiency and stuff like that and other shit. just buy the best u can afford. mostly somthin reliable even if it is used and has scratches.

i would take the diamond over the hifonics, i had a bx605 before it over heated all the time.

in the end all that matters is if your happy

no i meant i would use a dmm and find my target voltage, and that would be "all the way up", but i will take the da probably.

My buddy bought two new 15in T4's at a local shop for $200 each. 380 seems too high to me.

Also the T4 15in had 4in coils, dual 1ohm

lol that was 380 for both with shipping. Both subs were 300 bucks, shipping was about 80 bucks.
