SoundStream T5 *vid*!!

i don't think thats the case...
i'm not sure what HU he's got, but pioneers like mine need the bass to be put to +6 to get the full low freqencies signal to the amp...or so i hear...

i got mine on +6 as well, no loudness at all, and no bass boost on the amp...
No, it is the case. No matter what headunit you have, flat is flat. If you boost it at all, you are increasing the amplitude of some range of frequencies. This will increase the pre-out voltage but you're still not running it flat anymore. That doesn't mean that the final sound won't be flat but you're amplifying a boosted bass signal.

like i said, there's been a few posts here saying that theres something funky with pioneer HU's, that they don't give out much signal or whatever if you have it at 0...

so i'm just quoting from these posts...not makin it up or whatever...

and usually if i have mine set at 0, bb off, loud off, i can't hear sh!t, even setting the gain right...

so far i haven't been having any troubles...i could be wrong...but this is what some pioneer folks are sayin....

i'll get another vid up tomorrow for you'se.. but what do you all think about the low voltage...

* i'm looking for a new battery to replace my stock one..preferably kinetic*

lol you are settnig your gains wrong then...i have my preouts at 0 and look at my new flex vid..idk i have 6.5v preouts tho so that might be the difference not sure which headunit you have

You may be thinking sub out level and not bass level. I've done installs with pioneer decks and I have always left the bass EQ flat with max sub out level and set gains that way. I have yet to have one problem with it.

yea, right now my HU's settings are: low +6, mid +4, high +4, loud high, sub out level +6(all the way up) and no boost... can this cause low voltage with bad gain setting?

but what about the low voltage? would a battery solve this...if my gains are right, and if they're not, and i fix them, will that solve the low voltage?

i love the sub, great sound quality and gets very loud...i dont have the best amp either, and it's doing very well, i would recommend it, either this or an Fi SSD would be an option

Alright sweet. Thanks. By the way, since you have one already, do you know the box specs for this sub? Cuz it doesn't have the airspace for a box on their site? Do you know any of that stuff? And put up some more vids when u get the chance...

box specs...12"

sealed..netvolume 1ft^3, 900watts max, 20-50% semi dense fill

SQ box.. netvolume 1.75ft^3, vent 3" x 8.75", 31hz, max power 900watts

SPL box..netvolume 2.25ft^3, vent 35sqin x 26", 36hz, 800watts

netvolume does not include displacement which is .12ft^3, so add that

7.125" mounting depth, if you need other driver sizes, let me know.
