Hey guys,please help with your knowledge,i'm lookin at gettin a set of soundstream reference rf60c comps,i like good midbass,warm,not harsh highs,am i going wth the right choice,they'll run passive of a p.g x200.4,and cost about 300$.what are your thoughts

I'd go with Rainbow SLC 265 Kicks instead, for that kind of money. You can get a set from one of the dealers on this board for less than that.

Yeah SLCs are really nice and so are:

Focal 165v1 or v2(239 and 299)

MB Quart QSD-216(299)

Oz Audio Matrix Elite 180cs(299)

Pioneer TS-C720PRS(250)

Cant go wrong with any of them IMO

Unfortunately, Soundstream was bought some time ago by Power Acoustics, typically thought of as a flea market brand.

Thanx for the replies guys,looks like i'll give the soundstream a miss,as yet i havn't found anyone using them, or anyone with good feedback, the mb quart qsd sounds good, will just look around more,n try 2 listen as much as possible.

well i know the reference rf60c u mentioned Cadence also has the CVL-6k which is basically the same thing..

and they are made by DIY audio so i guess PM iamdeman about them and ask him what he thinks about them i guess they are pretty decent components but i personally never heard them hope this helps

For $330ish, a dealer can hook you up with some Rainbow Powerline CMX 265 Kicks. They'll love the 200+ w rms from your Xenon amp.

Yeah man, the CMX's are a great option, too. I just decided to list the SLC Kicks instead for him because he put in his OP that he wanted warm, not harsh highs...and if he's used to a really soft-sounding tweet, he might not like the CAL25 titan sound, as good as they are. They're definitely not harsh, but the silk 2045 tweet from the SLC set is perfect for warmth and accuracy.
