Soundstream reference 705?

Hi, I just joined to ask a couple of ?'s. I was big into the car audio sceen back in high school 89 to late 90's. I always had top of the line equiptment in the cars, ADS amps and door speakers and remember the stuff was not cheap. I also ran a soundstream ref 705 in my car in the late 90's I forgot. I racked up my car six months after I installed my system, so the amp is spanking new at least to me it is. I paid about 700 or 800 back them for it, so my ? is how much would it be worth now, and are people looking for something old school these day's. I have read that soundstreams quality has went down the drain after the reference series, is that true.

Depending on condition you can get around 380-450 on ebay. IMO SS quality dropped during the Reference S and SX lines, where SS was trying to get more power out of the same design. Did a rebound with the Rubicons but the damage was too great. After certain rubicons all amps were made in cookie cutter built houses.

But SS has released a new version of Reference series, good or bad, don't know.

Yes there are still people looking for old school items forsale. Sometimes old school is better than new school.
