Soundstream Reference 700SX help

Integra88 wants to sell me one of these to power my 2 DVC 4ohm subs. my subs are rated at 350 a piece. 700 total. i don't know much about the amp or the guy. he wants 120. what do you guys think about this? thanks for the help.

If it's working, that's one heck of a deal. That series of ref's were notorius for going bad, some even right out of the box!!! In high current mode, it'll wang!!

I even said I would deliver it while hooked up to my Armageddon Z series 12" so he could hear it work. No extra charge for delivery Glad to know people here can attest to the amp. P.S. I also wanted $150 for the amp, but pitbull said he could only swing $120 after I lowered the price to $135 to help him out. I think I am being more than fair for a 100% working 700SX.

ok..that's good. i have a question though...when you bridge something, doesn't it cut the ohm rating, of the subs, in half?

If you are running (2) DVC 4ohm subs to create a 1 ohm load, that is what the amp will see. You can run them seperate at 2 ohms each or together at 1 ohm. With subs you are better off running them bridged mono to the amp since you won't get stereo sound out of subs anyway. You can either wire them series parallel/parallel for 1 ohm to the amp or series/parallel to create a 4 ohm load. You get more power in a 1 ohm load configuration.

like, since i'm wiring 2 subs at 2 ohms a piece, it creates a 1 ohm load. then sinse i'm bridging the subs to the amp, it's .5 ohm. right?

If the subs are wired to a 1 ohm load, then the amp will see a 1 ohm load. Bridging the amp does not cut the load in half. The amp only sees the subs wiring. Look at the diagram I put up. It shows parallel/parallel at a 1 ohm mono load. Mono meaning bridged.

ok... i was confused on that cuz people tell me different things when i ask them. so my sister has 2 SVC 4ohm subs and she has a 2 channel amp that's not 1 ohm stable. if she bridges the 2 subs, the amp will see 2 ohms?

That is correct. They can be wired parallel/parallel to create a 2 ohm mono load to the amp or 4 ohm stereo, using both channels. All bridging does is use both channels of the amp to power one channel at roughly twice the power.
